We have always done the girls' birthday parties together because their birthdays are so close together. This year they decided to have an American Girl party at home. They both said this was the best party they had ever had. It was very girlie---all the girls dressed up, they had a very girlie lunch and of course, it was for girls only. Thank you Aunt GiGi and Ms. Fran for all of your help in making this a very fun day.
Aunt GiGi had the cake made to look like the official American Girl cake---it was so cute and so yummy.
The girls had fun playing this game; each girl had to put on a pair of gloves and unwrap a small gift---that is not easy. Once she had opened her gift, she passed the gloves to the next girl who had to do the same thing. The girls were divided into 2 teams who were racing against each other. In this photo, my daughter was using her teeth to help open her gift. 
The girls are taking the American Girl quiz---an ice breaker to help the guests get to know each other. They learned some interesting facts about each girl at the party.
The girls decorated sugar cookies. We had some very pretty designs.
We are so thankful to God for entrusting these 2 little girls to us. We are so grateful for each year that we are able to have them. We pray that "the Lord would bless them, and keep them; that the Lord would make His face to shine upon them, and be gracious unto them; that the Lord would lift up His countenance upon them, and give them peace." (Numbers 6:24-26) 
I can't believe she's 8! It seems like yesterday I was eating cake at my baby shower given in her honor.
The birthday girls and their guests; they brought their favorite doll or stuffed animal. Thank you, girls, for making this party so much fun!
Of course, little brother was not invited to the party, but as soon as he returned home from his outing with Daddy, he helped himself to the cake.
